Mariana Mazzucato – The Value of Everything: making and taking in the global economy

Abstract

A Rajk Szakkollégium 2020-as Neumann-díjasa Mariana Mazzucato, aki jelenleg a UCL2professzora, illetve a UCL Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose alapítója és igazgató-ja. Kutatási területe elsősorban az állam innovációban és ezáltal a gazdasági növekedés-ben betöltött szerepének megértése és újradefiniálása. Kutatási tevékenységén túl politikai tanácsadóként is működik, nemzetközi szervezetek és kormányfők kérik ki véleményét évek óta. Több nagyhatású könyv szerzője, melyek közül a The Value of Everything: making and taking in the global economy című művének segítségével próbálok a következőkben képet adni munkásságáról.

Professor Mariana Mazzucato received the John von Neumann award this year which is given annually by Rajk College. Mazzucato is a professor at University College London and she is the founder and director of their Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP). Her research focuses on the role played by the state in economic development through its innovation policy. In this review, I would like to give an overview of one of her most influ-ential book: The Value of Everything: making and taking in the global economy.
