Abstract

The paper provides an overview on the implementation of Bologna Declaration in the
area of public administration at the Corvinus University. It analyses the new developments from three viewpoints. First, they are perceived as a step in the long historical
process of the modernisation of the Hungarian state. Second, they fit into the general
pattern of the implementation of the Bologna requirements in the whole system of
Hungarian university education. Third, they are a continuation of previous efforts at
the University to integrate, both in research and education the legal, political, economic and managerial aspects of public administration, with particular emphasis on nonlegal approaches. In particular, it reviews the resources and constraints (both outside
and within the University) that have influenced the development and introduction of
the new programs.
